Sally discovered printmaking over 20 years ago after working in various other media. Sally mainly works with collagraphs, enjoying the endless room for experimentation with different materials. By using multiple plates or the viscosity method, she can explore the opaque and transparent qualities of the inks. The artist plans to try other printmaking methods in the near future, such as safe etching and drypoint.

‘Layers and In Between’. Viscosity Collagraph 19 x 21 cm

‘Not Knowing That I’m Upside Down’. 3 plate Collagraph 15 x 30 cm

‘Hold Me In Your Head’. Viscosity Collagraph 15 x 15 cm
The themes in Sally’s imagery are taken from personal experiences, books or anything that interests her at the time, from the Green Man to Early English Painting. The initial idea however, often plays a small part as she encourages the imagery to evolve freely.
